Committed MRR (CMRR)
Committed MRR (CMRR) is current MRR adjusted for changes you already know about: signed contracts not yet live are added, and cancellations already notified are removed. It is the forward-looking version of MRR.
Formula
Worked example
MRR of $80,000, with $6,000 of signed deals starting next month and $2,500 already on notice to cancel, is CMRR of $83,500 — the number the next board pack should forecast from.
CMRR strips the optimism out of pipeline discussions: it counts only contractual certainty, not weighted pipeline or verbal commitments. That makes it the most defensible base for short-range revenue forecasts and hiring plans.
It is also an early-warning metric — CMRR dipping below MRR means known cancellations exceed signed new business, a signal headline MRR will not show for another month or two.
