Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 July 2026. The short version: the calculators run entirely in your browser, we use privacy-respecting analytics only, and we never sell your data.

Your calculator inputs never leave your device

Every calculator on The Drill Down runs as JavaScript in your own browser. The numbers you type — revenue, churn, spend, headcount, anything — are computed locally and are never sent to us or to anyone else. We do not have a server that receives them, we do not log them, and we could not see them if we wanted to. Close the tab and they are gone.

What we do collect

• Analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to count page views and see which calculators and definitions are useful. This is aggregate: that a page was viewed, roughly from where, and on what kind of device. It is not used to build an advertising profile of you and is not linked to your calculator inputs.
• Server logs. Our host keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser, page requested, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting, like every website. These rotate and are not tied to any identity.

Cookies

The Drill Down does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics is configured to be as cookie-light as possible. If we ever add a cookie that stores anything about you specifically, this page will say so and, where the law requires it, we will ask first.

Third parties

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. The site loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers — everything it needs is served from our own domain. The only external parties involved at all are our hosting provider and our analytics provider, each under its own privacy terms.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct or request deletion of any personal data a processor holds about you, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Because we hold almost nothing tied to your identity, there is usually little to act on, but you can always ask.
